Welcome to Centrestage Theatre and Torbay Theatre - the newest additions to the ACTT family!

Auckland Community Theatre Trust
was set up in 2004 in order to promote community theatre and the theatre arts in the Auckland area.

All Auckland community theatres (dramatic and musical) can join ACTT (for a nominal cost) to have their plays, auditions and other news promoted through the ACTT website and sent out in "ACTTion" - our e-mail newsletter - to our ever-growing database.

Initially set up to promote groups performing plays (as opposed to musicals), groups can also choose at the start of the year to enter their plays into the ACTT/AMI Community Theatre Awards competition (for an additional nominal fee). ACTT judges will view productions and compile a list of nominees in 14 categories. The list of nominees is released in early February along with an invitation to the ACTT/AMI Dinner and Awards Night - a formal evening held in mid-March at an Auckland hotel.

Through ACTT, AMI Insurance also provide up to $1500 funding for Auckland community theatres to support special projects that may not be financially self-supporting.

ACTT also runs Showdown - an Auckland secondary schools competition for school productions.
